Purpose of Providing Loan to SHG Women
Economic Empowerment – To help women start or expand small businesses, earn income, and become financially independent. Entrepreneurship Development – To encourage women to engage in income-generating activities (like petty shops, tailoring, tiffin stalls, dairy, handicrafts, etc.). Savings Habit – To promote collective savings, mutual support, and financial discipline among women. Poverty Reduction – To improve the standard of living of poor families by providing easy access to credit without depending on moneylenders.
Outcome of the Project
“At first, they were working in another shop. Later, along with her husband, she took a loan and opened a small textile shop. Afterwards, by obtaining a loan from Surabhi, they further developed this textile shop, and through it, they were able to educate their children.” They were able to come out from below poverty line and improve their home through which the women were able to improve themselves with self-confident and decision making and sharing the stuffs of her family. Were now their family being able to pay fees to their children without getting or depending on others for their financial status.
