Purpose of Providing Loan to SHG Women
The purpose of providing loans to SHG women is to promote economic self-reliance by supporting small income-generating activities. It helps reduce poverty, improve livelihoods, and empower women socially and financially. These loans also encourage financial inclusion and community development.
Outcome of the Project
A woman, through her sheer determination and hard work, has managed to support her family despite limited resources. She is a mother of three children—two daughters and one son. Life hasn't been easy for her, but she has always put her children’s well-being and future above everything else. To sustain her family and meet their growing needs, she started a small tiffin centre and an afternoon snacks shop. This venture was made possible through a loan she received from Surabi, which she used wisely to set up her business. With the income she generated from selling homemade meals and snacks, she was able to support her household and gradually improve their living conditions. Her efforts bore fruit—one of her daughters has now gotten married, and so has her son. Her other daughter is still pursuing her graduation, and the woman continues to support her education with the earnings from her food business. This story is a testament to her resilience and hard work, showing how a mother can go to any length to ensure her children have a better life.
