Purpose of Providing Loan to SHG Women

The purpose of providing loans to SHG women, based on their family growth, is to enable them to improve the overall well-being and future of their households. With increased income from small businesses or livelihood activities supported by the loan, women can provide better education, healthcare, and living conditions for their families. It helps them break the cycle of poverty and create a stable and supportive environment for their children’s growth. Ultimately, these loans empower women to become pillars of financial and emotional strength within their families.

Outcome of the Project

Previously involved in selling to the wholesale market under someone else's name, she had little control or recognition for her hard work. However, with determination and the support she received, she eventually established her own independent business making pappads. No longer working under someone else, she took charge of her livelihood and began producing and selling pappads under her own name. Her husband continues to drive a rickshaw to support the family, but it is through her growing business that they have managed to significantly improve their living conditions. Despite the challenges, she has ensured that her children receive a good education, lifting them toward a brighter future. Her success has not only transformed her own family’s life but has also extended to others—she now employs two other women in her business, providing them with steady work and income. In doing so, she is not only sustaining her own household but also creating livelihood opportunities for others in her community. Her journey is a testament to the power of women’s entrepreneurship and how one woman’s strength can uplift multiple lives.
